Chase's First Christmas Tree!!

Well....we definitely had an adventure this weekend!

Mom and Denise came into town for a visit, and we decided to go get a tree. A local lake wildlife area was allowing people to come cut down invasive Red Cedars for a small donation fee, so we decided to go do that! It seemed like a good idea at the time...

Here we are picking out our tree! It didn't look that big outside...

Then we had to take the tree back to the car

Everything was going so well...

...he wasn't so sure that he liked it!

We finally made it home with the tree,

and it was WAYYY too big for the front window!

So we put it on the other side of the living room,

thank god for vaulted ceilings!

Once again, everything was going so well....

Apparently the tree was a bit too big.

We had a few casualties as far as ornaments go, and some injuries,

but nothing that can't be fixed with some superglue.

All in all, it was a really fun weekend, and I know we'll laugh about it more several years from now!! Currently, the tree is back up, and tethered to the railings by 3 strands of twine, so hopefully there will be no more tragedies!!

I started back to work on the 2nd. It's been great, but I miss being home with my boy!!

Ron has 4 weeks of paternity leave, so he's been enjoying being off work and getting to spend some quality time with Chase! I know I've been behind, but here is pretty much the entire month of August!!! Enjoy!!

Back to Work =(

I go back to work this Monday =(

I've had a great time being home, it's going to be so hard to go back!!

Ron is excited because he gets to stay home for the next 4 weeks on paternity leave.

We'll see if he's still excited after his first solo day with Chase =). It'll be a nice transition because I'll still be able to come home on my lunch breaks to see him.

After Ron goes back to work, Chase will be with Grandma Jane!

We had a wonderful visit with Ashley Link, Chase's godmother and my good friend.
